Naturalization Act of 1790
On March 26, 1790 the naturalization act of 1790 was passed which gave a process to becoming a citizen. “Provided
that any free, white, adult alien, male or female, who had resided
within the limits and jurisdiction of the United States for a period of 2
years was eligible for citizenship.”
